The secret has been out in Tulum for quite some time. From the gorgeous beaches to the lush jungles to the otherworldly cenotes, it is a travelers’ paradise.

Travelers keep coming to Mexico’s trendiest destination. As winter is just around the corner, more travelers are expected to arrive in droves.

There’s a lot going on in Tulum this winter, to say the least. The city will have its usual hordes of tourists, but more will surely pack in due to the opening of both the new airport and the highly anticipated Maya Train next month.

Naturally, more airlines are wanting to add Tulum to their network. We already covered 3 cities that were first to the punch, but now there are 3 more cities ready to take travelers to this coastal paradise.

Americans can now fly nonstop to Tulum from these 6 cities:

American Airlines Flights To Tulum

American Airlines may be late to the party, but it’s ok to arrive fashionably late, right? One of America’s most popular airlines will take to the skies to one of Mexico’s premier getaways soon.

Unfortunately, travelers won’t make any ribbon-cutting ceremonies in December, as they will have to wait until spring to fly here directly.

The next best option before then would be to fly to Cancun and make your way down to Tulum, like travelers have already been doing.

The downside is more time and money are added to your vacation time and budget. Obviously, the new international airport opening makes the journey much easier and more cost-efficient, which is why it’s so exciting!

American will launch its first Tulum route on March 28, 2024. The airline picked three cities to debut the new daily route, but Dallas/Fort Worth travelers will have more options.

The other 2 cities—Miami and Charlotte—will only offer a single flight per day. However, American Airlines can connect travelers to Tulum from 200 destinations across the U.S.

Delta Flights To Tulum

Delta was one of the first airlines to announce Tulum flights. Up until American’s recent announcement, they were also the only non-budget carrier. If flying low-cost airlines isn’t your jam, travelers can now choose between taking Delta and American. Although, at present time, Delta only offers one direct flight to Tulum.

Travelers outside Atlanta will have to plan on connecting or do it the old-fashioned way via Cancun.

Delta’s one and only nonstop flight to Tulum takes off from Atlanta (ATL) on March 28, 2024. Do you see a pattern here?

The reported flight schedule will look as follows:

  • Atlanta (ATL) to Tulum (TQO): departing 11:00 a.m. – landing 1:00 p.m. (daily)
  • Tulum (TQO) to Atlanta (ATL): departing 2:25 a.m. – landing 5:55 p.m. (daily)

Delta is known for having high-end flight amenities, such as hours upon hours of entertainment options for all ticket holders, regardless of class. This is just something to consider when choosing your airline.

Spirit Flights To Tulum

On the opposite end of the spectrum from other major carriers is low-cost airline, Spirit. To those unfamiliar, let’s just say they have a mixed reputation amongst customers, to say the least.

As the only airline that has caused me to miss a flight over a cheeseburger, I totally understand. But hey, that’s a different story for a different day.

Compared to Delta and American, travelers won’t have to stress as much with extra bag fees or stuffing as many items as possible into a “personal item”.

Spirit recently dropped their Los Cabos route in favor of expanding their network to Tulum. Even though Tulum has seen an increase in costs across the board, that doesn’t mean you can’t save on airfare.

Spirit is launching new direct routes from Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Go ahead and guess a starting date…

If you somehow figured out it’s March 28, 2024, you are correct! The reported schedule is as follows for both cities:

  • Orlando (MCO) to Tulum (TQO): departing 3:00 p.m. – landing 6:10 p.m. (daily)
  • Tulum (TQO) to Orlando (MCO): departing 2:55 p.m. – landing 6:05 p.m. (daily)
  • Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Tulum (TQO): departing 10:20 a.m. – landing 11:35 a.m. (daily)
  • Tulum (TQO) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL): departing 12:05 a.m. – landing 3:00 p.m. (daily)
