Q.R. Cancun — Already this year, Cancun International has registered over 14 million flight travelers. Over 2.6 million of those visitors visited in May, according to Governor Mara Lezama.

According to her, the 14 million visitors in the first five months of the year “allows us to predict an extraordinary summer vacation season.” She said that the 2.6 million in May is a 6.6% increase over the same month in 2022.

Governor Lezama said that the marketing of all of the state’s tourism areas, both north and south, with a variety of complementary items is what is attracting tourists.

“The natural wonders, culture, and history of Quintana Roo continue to draw visitors from all over the world.” More than 14 million people have been mobilized at Cancun International Airport in only five months, providing an exceptional prediction for the summer season,” stated Mara Lezama.

The governing business for Cancun International Airport, Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR), revealed that passenger traffic at the airport was 2,626,821 in May alone, representing a 6.6 percent increase over the same month in 2022.
