The Bahia Principe’s all-inclusive chain owned by Grupo Piñero, is preparing a massive renovation of their resort located in Tulum, Mexico.
The company is allowing the usage of a hefty $40 million to upgrade the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum Resort.
This remodel is accompanied by a broad push in renovation at the company’s “Living Resorts” division. This will feature redesigned villas, improved premium superior rooms and suites, and even a newly designed swimming pool.
Its new concept by Bahia Principe is based on a notion called “Origin,” concentrating on culture and the “nature, roots and origins of the magic of Mayan Culture.”
Considering the all-inclusive hotel consists of 973-rooms, which has three pools, seven bars, five restaurants, and a spa, the renovation is nothing less than colossal.
“Our strategic approach to renovating our hotels, residences and golf courses will help us surpass guest expectations in a hospitality landscape that is becoming increasingly competitive each year,” said Encarna Piñero, CEO of Grupo Piñero, in a statement. “In 2020, we will work toward elevating the consumer experience and to maintain our position as a leading all-inclusive brand in Mexico, the Caribbean and Spain.”
Bahia Principe ushers in this upgrade plan after recently partnering with the PGA of America in order to bring new life to its golf course at the Riviera Maya Golf Club, roughly 15 miles from Tulum.
Grupo Piñero said the grand scale renovation of their resorts will also be applied to the Dominican Republic locations, as they will see “numerous enhancements.”
In addition to the $40 million for the Tulum resort, Grupo Piñero claims another $20 million will be utilized for hotel and residential upgrades in Mexico, The Dominican Republic, and for the PGA of America.
Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed The Riviera Maya Golf Club on 90 hectares of land less than ten minutes away from the resort and it features an 18-hole and nine-hole course.
“This agreement supports our promise to create exciting experiences for our clients and also helps strengthen our commitment to the golf segment and the sport as a whole in the destinations in which we operate,” said Jaime Sitiar, managing director of Bahia Principe Residences and Golf. “As of December 2020, we will be extending this alliance with the PGA to our facilities in the Dominican Republic.”
Bahia Principe owns and operates 20 beautiful resorts across the Caribbean, with prime real estate in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.
Tulum being the prime location it holds claim to four of those resorts in the Riviera Maya. These include the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, the adults-only Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka’an, the Tulum property, and the Bahia Principe Grand Coba.
If you’re looking for that perfect resort or a piece of your own real estate to just rest and relax in, consider Mexico’s little utopia found on the magical shores of Tulum.
