Yaxté Maya was designed to give the residence the feeling of complete immersion into the Mayan jungle, the designers have chosen local materials and ancient Mayan construction techniques.
Chukum will be used for the walls, kitchen, bathrooms, and pools, named after its main ingredient, a limestone-based stucco mixed with resin from chukum trees, a species endemic to the Yucatan region of Mexico. Chukum is not only a 100% organic, natural material sourced locally but it is also 100% waterproof and creates amazing natural insulation.
The stonework found around the pools and on the featured walls are sourced locally and built in a specific Mayan design, you will find this stone laying technique around a lot of the ancient Mayan ruins in the area. The designers wanted to create not only a feeling of full immersion with nature but also the feeling of complete privacy.
Landscaping
Aldea Maya has established guidelines for construction and landscaping to ensure an environment in perfect balance.
Yaxté Maya is excited to have Riviera Maya’s most experienced and talented landscape architect, Jack Lund, and his team doing our landscaping. Jack Lund and his team built the world-class Bahia Principe golf course in Akumal, his team will be making sure the gardens have the maturity they require by saving as many plants and trees of the natural jungle on site as possible, and where needed transplanting fully grown palms to add shade and privacy around the pool areas.
Sustainability
