Q.R. Riviera Maya — Quintana Roo has received 21 nominations for World Travel Awards. The state has been recognized for its natural splendor, beaches, hospitality, high-quality services, gastronomy, air and cruise connectivity, according to the announcement made on Monday by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.
According to Lezama, the nominations for what are also known as the “Oscar Tourism Awards” are the result of the vigorous marketing campaigns run at international trade shows to draw more customers and investment.
Mara Lezama emphasized that with everyone’s efforts, progress is being made to ensure that everyone in the state benefits from tourism.
According to Lezama, the Costa Maya Ports in Mahahual and Cozumel are up for nomination in the category of Cruise Ships, while the Cancun International Airport is up for nomination in the category of Leading Airport of Mexico and Central America.
Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Tulum have been nominated as the top beach destinations in Mexico and Central America for 2023. Cancun for business travel. Cancun and Playa del Carmen have both received nominations for Urban Getaway Destination.
For the Leading City Destination of Mexico and Central America 2023, the following participants are Cancun, Tourist Board, Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In the Island Destination, Cozumel, Holbox and Isla Mujeres and Leading Destination for Meetings and Conferences, Cancun.
In the Leading All-Inclusive Resort category in Mexico and Central America 2023, Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Natural Park, Hard Rock Hotel Cancún, Hyatt Zilara Cancún, Hyatt Ziva Cancún and Occidental Cozumel.
In Mexico and Central America’s Leading Beach Resort 2023, Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa, and NIZUC Resort & Spa. In the Boutique Hotel category, Casa de Playa Thompson Playa del Carmen.
Along with nominations for Leading Conference Hotel in Mexico and Central America 2023, Leading Green Hotel in Mexico and Central America 2023, Leading Hotel Brand in Mexico and Central America 2023, Leading New Hotel in Mexico and Central America 2023, and Leading Adventure Tour Operator in Mexico and Central America 2023.
Leading Destination and Adventure Tourism are among the categories up for nomination, along with a number of airlines in the Air category and the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico’s Leading Tourism Board of Mexico and Central America 2023.
The World Travel Awards (WTA) honor outstanding achievement across all facets of the international travel and tourism sector. On August 26, winners will be announced at a ceremony on Saint Lucia.
