Mexico City, Mexico — State dignitaries from Quintana Roo are represented at the 47th Tianguis Turstico in Mexico City. There are representatives from all over the country in attendance, including twelve governors.

Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, says she is working to promote the state’s eleven municipalities. Tourism in Mexico emphasizes, among other things, cuisine, culture, hotels, ecotourism, and tourist experiences.

Miguel Torruco Marqués, the Secretary of Tourism for Mexico, is also participating in the event. He emphasized the global tourism potential of Mexico, stating that despite facing a global pandemic, Mexico has maintained its status as a country with open doors for tourists and has established itself as a global tourism power.

Torruco Marqués emphasized that this edition of the Tianguis Turístico is an unbeatable showcase for Mexico to shine its splendor before the eyes of the entire world with its cultural heritage, gastronomy, pre-Hispanic sites, crafts and its 132 Magical Towns and 32 Magical Neighborhoods and, especially, its exceptional service providers, who have transformed the country into an emblematic travel destination with great value for its visitors.

Governor Lezama states that she is promoting the southeast of the country as a potential region for development in Mexico with actions that will contribute to an improvement in the quality of life for citizens, given that tourism is the primary source of employment for the vast majority of residents.

Lezama stated, “We must work to develop robust tourist protection strategies as well as efforts to build a positive perception through promotional actions and diplomatic efforts.”

Mexico City hosts the tourist fair from March 26 to March 29.
