Cancun, Q.R. — The Cancun International Airport established a new single-day operational record over the weekend. On Saturday, the airport, which remains one of the three busiest in the nation, set a new record with 660 operations.
It was the airport’s busiest day since 2018. Cancun International Airport achieved a single-day record of 659 operations on March 31, 2018. This record remained until December 3, when ASUR reported 660 operations and the processing of 129,000 passengers.
Saturday operations involved 323 arrivals, 109 of which were domestic and 214 of which were foreign. In addition, there were 337 departures, of which 114 were domestic and 223 were international.
State governor Mara Lezama also mentioned the new milestone on social media.
“Today, we will smash all records and make history in Quintana Roo with 660 planned operations and 129,000 people passing through our Cancun airport. She wrote, “Congratulations to everyone!”
