Tulum, Q. R. — The National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur) says another train station has been added to the original plan for section 5 south. The section, which runs from Playa del Carmen to Tulum, will have an added station at the airport.

Jimena Cárdenas Márquez, coordinator of sections 5, 6 and 7 of the Maya Train, made the announcement after a Monday afternoon meeting in Tulum. While presenting progress to others involved in the Maya Train project, Márquez said a train station is being planned for construction at the new Tulum airport.

In Tulum, there will be a 60-meter right of way where the train will pass and also two stations. One in the town of Tulum and the other at the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Airport.
