Russian Tourism Grows, over the last two years the state of Quintana Roo has seen a 40 percent increase in Russian tourists. One reason the growth has occurred is due to the direct flight offerings.

Direct flights between Moscow and Cancun has brought over 49,000 Russian travelers to Mexico’s Caribbean region. There are four to five direct flights each week and connecting flights through Europe or Cuba are available as well. Russian Tourism Grows

During 2019, there is an expectation that another increase will unfold, this time by 15 percent. And there might be two additional direct flights added each week.

These direct flights are provided by Pegas Touristik and Anex Tour, both Russian airline operators. Because of Russia’s recovered economy, more people are starting to travel again, and in particular making their way to Quintana Roo.

The Riviera Maya is a preferred destination compared to other places in Mexico. This is evidenced by the stats showing eight out of 10 Russian travelers arrive at the Cancun International Airport.

Statistics indicate that arrivals are highest during the months of November to April, since these are the winter months are the preferred time of travel. On average Russian tourists vacation for 10 to 12 nights while in Mexico.
