Cancun, Q.R. — The state of Quintana Roo has reported the lowest covid-19-related hospital occupancy rates in the country. Governor Carlos Joaquín reported a 3 percent covid-19 hospital rate, 2 percent of which, are beds with ventilators.
He said thanks to the federal vaccination plan, the state continues on a decline in contagion risk figures. The governor said that from November 22 to 28, the entire state will remain in a green first-stage epidemiological light.
“The decrease in the contagion curve is reflected in the behavior by municipalities, which indicates that Tulum decreased 100%, Puerto Morelos 100%, José María Morelos 74%, Cozumel 67%, Benito Juárez (Cancun) 51%, Felipe Carrillo Puerto 50%, Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen) 47%, Othón P. Blanco (Mahahual, Chetumal) 46% and Bacalar, 37%,” he detailed.
He also added that the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas (Holbox) increased 4% and Isla Mujeres 49%, but in both cases, with low levels with between two and five cases.
This also reflects the behavior of the vaccination process against covid-19, which in Quintana Roo, saw 2,116, 602 doses applied.
Governor Joaquín also noted the rise in infections that European countries are experiencing, mainly in non-vaccinated people. For this reason, he says it’s important to continue the use of habits, preventive measures and hygiene protocols.
