Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism says 78 percent of the international air seats offered in February were filled. For domestic flights, 66 percent of those offered were used.
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, announced that in February, seat occupancy on international flights to Mexico was 78 percent filled, while on domestic flights it was 66 percent, according to information from the Official Airline Guide and the Federal Civil Aviation Agency.
Torruco Marqués reported that in February, 2,832,171 seats were offered on international flights of which 2,218,832 passengers were transported.
He indicated that on domestic flights, 6,803,951 seats were available of which 4,457,783 passengers were transported.
For January and February of this year, 4,675,517 international passengers have flown in to Mexico, while more than 9.4 million have flown national origin-destination operations.
Torruco Marqués reported that during 2023, there are more than 33.7 million airline seats available to Mexico from around the world, a 3.8 percent increase over last year.
